On the Days You Want to Just Quit

You're on a roll...you have a lot of momentum because you're stacking wins every day...

You've made it this far into the new year...

This far into your new program...you've made it through some tougher days...

This far into new habits that are moving you forward in life...

You go to bed following your set-up-for-success routine with all the intentions to go to bed early and wake up the next day with purpose...

Your clothes are laid out...

Your water is ready...

Yours meals and snacks are prepped...

You wrote out what tasks you need to tackle first thing in the AM...

then BOOM

Lethargy, resistance, laziness, and completely lost desire to do ANYTHING productive consumes your intentions like a black hole the moment you wake up.

The feeling of wanting to do absolutely NOTHING and just quit hit you like a car going 90mph colliding into a 10ft thick concrete wall.

If you're on any kind of journey that requires you to be your best, whether it's in the gym, or at your job, or in your business, or maybe diving deep into some hard personal growth... you've probably faced this feeling before.

The QUICKEST way I've found to snap out of it: do everything in your power to do the one hardest thing that you absolutely don't want to do that morning or that day...

I don't care if you have to walk on the treadmill for half an hour before finally getting yourself to touch that weight...

I don't care if you have to sit in front of your computer for an hour before you make that call for work that you've been avoiding all morning...

I don't care if you have to sit on the couch and stare at a wall for 20 minutes before you finally open that book right next to you that feels like a 100lb weight just to open to the first page...

Put yourself AT LEAST in a position where it becomes 10x harder NOT to follow through on your commitment... and sit there/stand there/walk there until it becomes unbearable to not follow through.

I didn't say a day when you just want to quit was going to be your most productive day, but the fact that you STILL showed up despite all the resistance and on the day you felt the LEAST like following through...DONE is the win, whether it was perfect or not.

And knock that thing out first. The momentum you'll have from overcoming your biggest hurdle will fuel you through the rest of that day.

Fight resistance. Don't let today be the day you let resistance win.

The greater the struggle, the greater the victory.

You got this.
